1. Introduction
Welcome to the PTMSC Docent Forum!
Below is a set of instructions meant to help you become familiar with basic forum functions, and how to best use these forums for your online discussions.
2. Registering
Although you can successfully use and navigate this discussion forum without registering for an account, many helpful functions will be unavailable to you if you use this forum as a guest user.
If you would like to register for a forum account, click here for instructions.
Guest users (without a registered account) can still read and respond to forum posts, but they will not be alerted when the forum is updated with new topics and discussion posts.
3. Navigation
This forum has three levels of organization: Categories, Boards, and Threads. You can find all three levels from the forum homepage: ptmsc.boards.net
Categories: These are the most general areas of the forum. Most of your forum activity will be taking place in the Discussion Modules category, which will be updated every two weeks as we launch new content modules. The Welcome category will be where we post forum tutorials or other helpful information, but not a place of active discussion.
Boards: We will group relevant topics into boards. Each discussion module will be contained within its own board, so that it is easy to find and read over old modules once we’ve changed topics.
Threads: Threads are nested inside the boards, and are where forum conversations take place. Each thread will have a prompt to spark discussion. You will be able to post within most threads to respond to the discussion questions or other conversations happening on the forums.
From any page in the forum, you can navigate to higher levels of organization by clicking the tabs on the top of the screen.
4. Posting
You’ve read through the discussion happening on one of the threads, and would like to respond (or have further questions on the topic)! There are two ways to post a response: Quick Reply and Reply
NOTE: If you are not logged into your account (a Guest user), you can only use the quick reply function. You will need to enter a Guest Name before you will be allowed to post this way.
5. Q&A
Are you running into technical trouble with the forum? Post your questions on this thread, and we will do our best to solve them!
